Life starts in the hills

ECHO journalist Claire Ottaviano and beau Mark Bradstreet were married at Mundaring Anglican Parish on Saturday, December 16 followed by a backyard reception in Mount Helena.

Mark, a primary school teacher, and Claire met five and-a-half years ago through a mutual friend and instantly recognised they both shared a love for adventure.

The couple spent six months apart between 2014-15 while Mark served in Darwin with the army reserve before embarking together on a two-year working holiday in Canada with travels across North America and Europe.

Claire and Mark held a casual picnic-style reception at the old Station House in Mt Helena.

Claire’s life-long friend Talysha de Bondt and Mark’s brother Ian Bradstreet acted as maid of honor and best man.

True to their character the pair spent their honeymoon camping in Stirling Range National Park, hiking Bluff Knoll and visiting the Anzac memorials in Albany before returning to family on Christmas Eve.
