Ten years for Mundaring Men’s Shed

MUNDARING Community Men’s Shed recently celebrated their 10-year anniversary with a barbecue and luncheon for members and their families.

Founding members Wally Winfield, Ivor Bridges, Bill Frost and Martin Beal started a decade ago with only one woodwork shed and have expanded with a metalwork shed and amenities building to keep up with growing membership.

The Men’s Shed is entirely self-funded and supported by local government and business grants, Lotterywest and community donations.

Locally run, the group provides support and a safe environment for men to share trade skills or learn new ones.

You do not have to be a member to attend the Shed’s opening days, visitors are always welcome.

Members recently built a plastic recycling machine for Chidlow Primary School and regularly complete handy-man repair jobs for the community.

For the last 12 months the Shed has expanded its hours opening five days a week, Monday to Friday.

Find them at 3205 Jacoby Street, Mundaring or contact the club on 9295 0577.
