Altone Park re-opening with family fun

THE City of Swan is inviting residents to celebrate the refurbishment and re-opening of the Altone Park Leisure Centre by coming to a special family fun day on Sunday.

The pool and the centre’s surrounds have been revamped and the city wants the local community to come along, check out the changes and enjoy the event which begins at 10am and continues until 2pm.

Entry is free and the family fun will feature giant pool inflatables, a bouncy castle and face painting in addition to there being some great prizes on offer.

City of Swan Mayor Mick Wainwright said the family fun day wasn’t just to celebrate the new facilities.

“We also want to thank the community for their patience while the work took place,” Mr Wainwright said.

“We are very lucky to have such a fantastic community and we can’t wait to welcome them back.”

The upgrade includes a resurfaced pool, newly tiled surrounds and brand new toilets and change rooms.

Deputy Mayor Dave Lucas is hopeful the centre’s loyal members will return to take advantage of the overhauled facilities and opening day offers.

“There are some great incentives to come back and bring your friends with you including a special 30 days for $30 offer which will be available on the day.”

For more information, contact the centre on 9207 8555 or email altone.park@swan.wa.gov.au or visit the city’s website.
