Celebrate recycling week

BALLAJURA Environment Day will be held this month to celebrate National Recycling Week.

Free workshops and activities through the fun filled day will allow families to celebrate all aspects of caring for the environment on Saturday November 15.

City of Swan Mayor Charlie Zannino said the city was lucky to have such a diverse natural environment and National Recycling Week was a great time to celebrate conserving and protecting it.

Children will have the opportunity to get their hands dirty by making a planter from a plastic water bottle, creating an instrument out of household junk and joining in activities with the Eco Faeries.

There will also be a free worm farming workshop and plenty of recycling information from the city.

School students will have their artistic skills on display as part of the Rethink Waste sculpture competition.

The event runs from 10am to 2pm at the Ballajura Place Hub, corner of Kingfisher Ave and Illawarra Cres.
