Cricket club celebrates a milestone

MIDDLE Swan Cricket Club is holding a friendly T20 match between a team of MSCC Legends and a combined team of Swan Helena District Cricket Association Legends to help celebrate its 140th anniversary on Saturday, September 23.

The game will be played at Jack Mann Oval in Middle Swan with the official welcome speech scheduled for 1pm.

There will be an accompanying historic memorabilia display, the match itself, children’s activities including a WA player clinic and formal presentations at about 5pm.

Anita Mcinnes received a highly commended in the 2009 WA Media Awards suburban section for her reporting. Two of her sons were born at Swan District Hospital and for many years she was a partner in a small business, which operated in the Gingin-Muchea-Bullsbrook area. As a mature age student Anita studied journalism at Curtin University before working in Busselton, Dunsborough and Rockingham with West Regionals. She says the best part of her job is meeting eastern suburb residents and visiting the many attractions in the area.
