THE Ellenbrook Theatre Company has two reasons to celebrate its end of year pantomime as the occasion marks the theatre’s 10-year anniversary and its biggest performance yet.
Pioneers Carol and Brian Harris began the theatre company with a group of like-minded locals in 2008 to take advantage of the new town’s purpose built Performing Arts Centre.
Founding members wanted to give all ages the opportunity to come forward and get involved in theatre whether on stage or part of the very important behind the scenes crew.
The cast and crew can range from seven to 70-years-old.
This year’s 10th anniversary production of Beauty and the Beast The Pantomime has a cast size of 55 and a crew size of 15 with 10 shows, making it the largest and longest run show attempted by the Ellenbrook Theatre Company.
It takes many hours of volunteer time to attend rehearsals, design and make costumes, plan lighting, sound and special effects, build and paint sets and props to make the shows come to life.
Funding for the Ellenbrook Theatre Company is from ticket sales, grants and donations from local and private businesses.
Performances run from December 15 to 23.
