TWO life-long friends from Guildford are off to a thrilling start to the year after winning a share of $32 million in Lotto thanks to some Christmas spirit.
The pair and four other WA division 1 winners took home $1.42m in the December 30 draw.
The Guildford winner, bought the ticket from Helena Estate Pharmacy and News.
“I’d bought this ticket as a Christmas gift for my mate on the condition that if we won we went 50/50,” she said.
“Believe it or not – only a few weeks prior I’d had a crystal clear dream that we were going to win Lotto.”
Helena Estate Pharmacy and News retail manager Sharon Taylor said the win was celebrated with balloons and champagne by staff and customers last week.
“We only began selling Lotto tickets just over 12 months ago, and in terms of larger agencies who’ve had it for years and never sold a winner, we’re very lucky,” she said.
Mrs Taylor said the luck was not over for the store as she predicted two more wins for the pharmacy and news agency this year.
One of the Guildford winners is planning to use the money to put his grandchildren through private school education and the other is looking forward to a much needed new dishwasher.
