New roundabout for Park St

A SECTION of Park St and Fairmount Blvd in Brabham and Starflower Pl in Henley Brook will be temporarily closed to vehicles from Wednesday, January 31 for 11 weeks.

The temporary closure is to allow for the construction of a new roundabout connecting Starflower Pl and Fairmount Blvd with Park St.

The new roundabout will tie in with the existing Lord St roundabout.

Starflower Pl will also be reconstructed to join the existing Lord St.

The closure is part of the Lord Street project.

Meanwhile, as part of the works program for the New Lord St project, night works will continue along Lord St, between Woollcott Ave and Youle-Dean Rd.

The works to allow installation of safety barriers along the eastern side of Lord St will take place between 7pm and 7am on intermittent nights until Friday, January 19.

During the night works Lord St will be reduced to a single lane between Woollcott Ave and Youle-Dean Rd.

The northbound lane will have traffic control in place to guide road users through the changed traffic conditions that will be in place.

The speed limit will be reduced to 40km/h while the barriers are being installed.
