Open day at Spring Road kindy

SPRING Road Community Kindergarten’s open day on Sunday, May 20 will have face painting, play dough activities, story-time and a sausage sizzle.

During the event, which runs from 11am to 1pm, parents will be able to enrol their child to attend the kindergarten next year.

Teachers will be there to chat with families and answer any questions.

The purpose-built kindergarten is just around the corner from the Kalamunda library.

It is a play-based kindergarten, giving children the opportunity to learn through play, in a nurturing and informal setting, away from primary school schedules and procedures.

At the kindergarten, there is a strong emphasis on outdoor play – to develop fundamental movement skills, imaginative play, experimentation, investigation, social interaction and to build a solid foundation for their future primary school years.

The educators are fully qualified teachers employed by the Department of Education, and children learn from the national curriculum, as they do in school-based kindergartens.
