THERE’S nothing better than pyjamas on a cold day, especially when you’re wearing them for a good cause.
Every year, Swan View child care centre Little People’s Retreat celebrates National Pyjama Day to support the Pyjama Foundation.
The Foundation supports the dreams of kids living in foster care, helping them reach their full potential by assisting them with their learning, and by providing consistent love and support.
The Pyjama Foundation’s Love of Learning program, volunteers called ‘Pyjama Angels’ are recruited, screened, trained and then matched with a child in care to spend time with them once a week, focusing on learning-based activities.
The Swan View children donated a gold coin to wear their pyjamas to the Little People’s Retreat, and manager Genevieve Menage said the children were more than happy to help.
“They understand the money is going towards a really good cause so their parents are more than happy to pitch in with a gold coin,” she said.
“The children really enjoy wearing their pyjamas for the cause.”
