Sassafras returns to the Perth Hills

THE gypsy jazz band Sassafras is playing at the Mundaring Weir Hotel again on Saturday, March 31.

Band leader Pete Jeavons said Sassafras first played at the Mundaring Weir Hotel on December 9 after they had originally planned to perform at Juniper Studio in Darlington but then had to change venues at the last minute.

“Anyhow, Mundaring Weir Hotel is a great venue, and the last gig went really well,’’ he said.

“After this gig, it’s unlikely Sassafras we be able to perform in the Perth Hills again until the end of the year, as a number of our band members are heading overseas at different times over the next few months.’’

The band has singer Jessie Gordon, acoustic guitar players Lachlan Gear and Aaron Deacon, clarinet player Adrian Galante (clarinet) and Pete Jeavons on bass.
