Brabham Oval now open

BRABHAM locals welcomed the newly constructed Brabham Park and Pavilion at its official opening on Friday, November 19.

The project was designed to serve the sporting and recreational needs of the community and features a sports pavilion, a turfed playing field, sports floodlighting, play space, practise cricket wickets and car parking.

City of Swan mayor David Lucas said providing accessible sporting facilities was a top priority for the community.

“I encourage all members of our community to see the new Brabham Park and Pavilion for themselves,” mayor Lucas said.

To celebrate the launch of the new community sporting hub, the City of Swan organised a free family event giving locals the opportunity to support local businesses and enjoy an evening of family friendly entertainment.

The jam-packed event featured free local entertainment, food trucks, an interactive animal nursery, face-painting, a bouncy castle, a family movie screening and community market stalls.

The facility will be a shared use space enabling Brabham Primary School students to have access to the oval for their school needs.
