ELITE schools leader Peter Allen will become Guildford Grammar School’s 14th principal in the school’s 126-year history.
Mr Allen will join the prestigious private school in January 2023, taking over from current principal Anne Dunstan, who will leave in October.
Currently the vice principal of All Saints’ College, Mr Allen has a history of leadership roles at elite private schools including Scotch College and Penrhos College.
“Peter has diverse experience in schools ranging from co-educational and single sex, day and boarding, independent, state and international settings,” Guildford Grammar School Council chair Roger Port said.
“This diversity of experience reflects Peter’s commitment to enhancing the wellbeing and academic educational experience for students while developing active, vibrant and aligned communities.
“He has a strong strategic focus and impressive interpersonal skills with a humble and inclusive leadership style.”
Prior to his current role, Mr Allen was the director of teaching and learning at Scotch College in Perth and the Dean of teaching and learning at Penrhos College, teaching previously at schools in Dubai and London.
The Scotch College graduate holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in history, politics and law and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Australia, as well as a Master of Education Leadership from the University of Queensland.
