Head to hills for school holiday fun

A POKEMON dance party is amongst a host of cheap activities being run by Seen and Heard this school holidays in the hills.

Seen and Heard Youth Development Officer Rheannan Graham said the school holiday fun would kick off with a film-making workshop at the Parkerville Children and Youth Care Campus.

“Children aged 12 to 19 years will learn to create their own film with Filmbites on September 28,” she said.

“Meanwhile, families are invited on Friday, September 30 to come along and enjoy a screening of Zootopia at the Chidlow Pavilion.

“If you’re kids are Minecraft fans we are hosting a Minecraft Local Area Network (LAN) Party at the Hub of the Hills on Tuesday, October 4.

“This event is for those who are 12 to 20 year olds who can bring along their own laptop, with Minecraft installed and a Minecraft account to join in on the event which will include competitions and prizes.”

Ms Graham said a free film editing workshop would be held at the Swan View Youth Centre on Friday, October 7.

“People can learn about editing techniques to add to their films but spaces are very limited so get in quick.”

“The final event will be an all ages Pokemon Dance Party during the Swan View Show at the Swan View Youth Centre.

“Bring along your phone or tablet and enjoy Pokemon Go with lures on the nearby Pokestop during the event.

“There will be prizes for best dressed and a DJ playing the latest music.”
