DESPITE last weekend’s COVID-cancelled football games, Koongamia Football Club celebrated the milestones of three players.
Kookie Garlett played his 150th game while Brayden Willcocks and Jayeden Quartermaine played their 200th games on June 20.
Garlett has played for clubs such as Midvale, Beechboro, Dianella, Swan View, Innaloo, Canning, Midland and the majority with Koongamia.
“Kookie not only plays footy he helps set up and pack away on game days and helps out with other odd jobs around the club, he is a great player and club member,” club administrator Rikita Ryder said.
“A big congratulations also to Willcocks for his 200th game.
“He registered with Koongamia Football Club in 2007 when he was 16-years-old and is the only club Brayden has ever registered with and we are honoured to have him.”
Willcocks now captains the division 1 team.
While Quartermaine played the majority of his football career in the Peel region where he lives, he has committed to the Koongamia Football Club for the 2021 season, travelling more than an hour for training and games.
“We are grateful to celebrate this milestone with Jayeden,” Ms Ryder said.
“He has been a part of the Koongamia family since he was young as his father coached for many years, congratulations again Jayeden you are an asset to have in Koongamia.”
Koongamia Football Club will be participating in the 2021 NAIDOC round for the Metropolitan Football League on Sunday, July 11 at Queens Park Reserve.
