A WHOLE watt of people dished out top scores for a High Wycombe family’s tree-mendously bright Christmas light display this week.

The Rawlings family home covered in more than 40,000 lights earnt them the People Choice Award: Best House South of the River on the 2021 Synergy Xmas Lights Trail.

Craig Rawlings said it felt great to be recognised for the long hours he and his wife spent on the display.

“It feels really good, a lot of hard work was put into it,” he said.

“It took us 70 hours to put up and at least half an hour to set up the inflatables and another half hour to take them down at the end of the night.

“We do it for the whole month of December.”

This Christmas marks the sixth year the family have decorated their home having raised $15,000 for the Perth Children’s Hospital since they started.

The dynamic driveway arch was their latest addition to the display which Mr Rawlings said included 5000 lights alone.

“It’s all about the kids,” he said.

“A lot of our lasers and smoke machines are a massive hit too, they’re something interactive for them.

“We love to see the smile on their faces, they come and walk away happy and that is what it’s all about.”
