A VEHICLE rollover in Walliston last week has sparked concerns from residents about the community’s safety.

Around 6.10pm on May 13, a Jeep Cherokee was travelling east on Grove Road before Lawnbrook Road, left the road into bushland, and rolled over and caught fire.

Two occupants exited the vehicle, with one person receiving minor injuries.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services attended the scene and extinguished the fire.

Echo News visited the scene the day following the incident, where the burnt-out vehicle remained on its side, along with debris scattered on the ground.

Two residents who live on Grove Road told Echo News they heard a loud bang the night of the incident.

They expressed concerns over frequent speeding in the area, noting Grove Road was near Walliston Primary School and that speed bumps should be installed to prevent this sort of behaviour.
