SWAN Settlers Market in Herne Hill is inviting families to escape the house this weekend as they host a captivating schedule of free animal encounters to keep the school holiday boredom at bay.

As a popular hub for families and visitors alike, this historic venue is set to transform into a vibrant, hands-on wildlife destination for all ages to enjoy.

The adventure begins with a cuddly animal farm on Saturday, January 17 from 10am to 2pm, where young children can get up close with furry barnyard favourites like lambs and rabbits, introducing them to farm life in the heart of the Swan Valley.

The atmosphere shifts on Sunday, January 18 from 12pm to 2pm, as the Perth Reptile Company arrives with their fascinating array of scaly visitors.

Brave youngsters and adults can learn about wildlife conservation while meeting lizards, a friendly turtle, a resident frog, and several snake species.

Between these wild encounters, families are encouraged to explore the eclectic food stalls and artisan markets housed within the historic building.

While parents browse handcrafted local goods or enjoy gourmet coffee, the kids can burn off excess holiday energy in the dedicated indoor and outdoor play zones.

To make the most of the summer weather the market will also feature live music from 12pm to 2pm on the Sunday.

With free entry, ample parking, and no booking required, it will be a memorable summer day out.
