ENVIROFEST will return to Whiteman Park on Saturday, March 21 marking the fifteenth anniversary of the region’s flagship public environmental education event.
The free festival, running from 10am to 3pm at Village West, will bring together a diverse range of community groups, environmental professionals, and sustainable producers to showcase eco-friendly products and services.
This year’s program will return to the event’s core focus on the importance of trees to both human and environmental health.
Educational sessions will specifically address the necessity of increasing urban tree cover and the importance of providing essential backyard habitats for native wildlife.
Attendees can engage with live birds of prey and reptile displays while interacting with rewilding experts to learn how to support local species.
The event will coincide with International Day of Forests as the Whiteman Park team give eventgoers the opportunity to explore and learn about specific tree species that support local fauna.
A number of talks are planned throughout the day by key organisations, including Trillion Trees, Carnaby’s Crusaders, and Perth NRM.
A variety of market stalls and eco-activities will offer a range of sustainable solutions to help residents improve environmental conservation efforts in their own homes.
The day promises to be an event for all ages as a number of kid-friendly programs have been organised, including nature-based eco-crafts and free face painting.
The festival will provide a unique opportunity for families to connect with environmental experts while discovering practical ways to live more sustainably.
