MEMBERS of the Parkerville Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade are appealing for information after thieves stole the axle and suspension from the brigade’s new illuminated sign trailer.
The brigade said the trailer, purchased with support from Bendigo Bank Mundaring, had been intended to communicate fire safety information, community updates and other important local notices.
In a social media post, the brigade described the theft as “disappointing” and said the loss had left volunteers unable to use the resource.
“We are reaching out with a heavy heart,” the brigade wrote.
The brigade said the trailer represented its commitment to protecting and supporting the local community and the theft would make the work of volunteers more difficult.
Volunteers are now urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or has information about the incident to contact the brigade or local authorities.
The brigade thanked the community for its ongoing support and called for community resources to be respected and protected.
