SWAN United FC remains fourth on the ladder after a comprehensive 6-1 win against Jaguar FC at the Herb Graham Recreation Centre in Mirrabooka.

Swan United coach Lee Taylor said it was a professional performance where they moved the ball well at times and created numerous good opportunities.

“We got into some good areas to create a lot of problems and I was pleased to see the goals being shared around the team,” he said.

“Unfortunately for a second week in a row we have lost another player to a bad injury, so there is a lot for us to consider for next week’s game against league leaders Wanneroo.”

The visitors were on the front foot early and opened the scoring on seven minutes when good work from John Monterosso on the right saw him pull the ball back to Liam Merigan who made no mistake.

Swan United doubled their lead  10 minutes later when Merigan’s corner was headed home by Chris Marshall.

Jaguar pulled one back six minutes before the break when Marshall’s attempted clearance went into his own net.

But Swan regained their two-goal advantage before half time with Monterosso sending in Cameron Anderson who rounded Michale Dudek and rolled the ball home.

It was 4-1 on the hour mark when Tom White’s corner was headed back across goal by Marshall and Anderson was on hand to score.

Swan found a fifth 19 minutes from time when Anderson’s cross from the right was met by a diving header from Monterosso.

They completed the scoring in the final minute when Josh Appleby was quickest to react after a deflected shot finished neatly in the bottom corner.
