JOINING the MJAC exhibition line-up, prize-winning Western Australian textile artist Margery Goodall will present her new solo exhibition What Price Comfort?, later this month at Midland Junction Arts Centre.
Displayed in the East Gallery, the exhibition challenges ideas about packaging and consumerism by repurposing discarded household waste into intricately patterned woven forms.
Goodall elevates these curated waste materials into elevated artworks, offering commentary on societal consumption habits with a quirky and acerbic sense of humour.
The collection includes pieces developed during her May residency at the venue alongside the WA Quilters Association’s Stitched and Bound exhibition.
Complementing her exhibition Goodall will deliver an artist talk and a number of drop-in workshops for people of all ages to engage in a communal artwork involving recycled materials, which will be added to and displayed as part of the exhibition.
