TRANSITION Town Guildford and the City of Swan are hosting a pedal-powered outdoor movie night this Saturday, March 16, for a screening of the documentary ‘Climate Changers’.
The free event will be held from 6pm to 8pm at Spring Reserve at 96 Helena Street in Guildford, with attendees taking turns pedaling 15 stationary bikes to generate enough electricity to power the movie projector.
The documentary is created by the Climate Council’s chief councillor, and former Australian of the year, professor Tim Flannery.
Mr Flannery was named Australian of the year in 2007 for recognition of his role as an effective communicator in explaining environment issues and bringing them to the attention of the public.
The documentary follows Mr Flannery’s search for leadership on climate change, as he poses questions about where the leaders are who will drive change, and how might they succeed where others have failed.
The screening will start at 7pm with attendees encouraged to join the festivities from 6pm for a BYO picnic dinner.
Attendees do not need to pedal for the entire film, as people will rotate out riders of the stationary riders.
