CALLING on young people to showcase their talent and creativity through the lens in celebration of Youth Week WA.

Commissioner for Children and Young People Jacqueline McGowan-Jones, is inviting WA young people to share what the 2024 Youth Week WA theme of ‘Head. Body. Heart.’ means to them through an online photography competition.

“This year’s theme can mean so many different things from one person to the next, so we’re asking the young people of WA to share their perspectives through the power of photography,” she said.

“Entrants are encouraged to share an original photograph based on part or all of the theme, with prompts and questions provided online to help spark unique ideas.

“Children and young people see the world differently to adults, and its important that their views are considered and that their voices are heard.

“I can’t wait to see the incredible entries from young people across the state and encourage everyone who enjoys taking photos to submit their entry, no matter what their abilities or skill levels are.”

The competition encourages young people to explore the meaning of ‘Head. Body. Heart’ and empowers them to share their voices and views through an online platform where their diverse perspectives are valued and celebrated.

This competition is open to WA young people of all abilities who are aged 10 to 17 years, with prizes up for grabs from $50 to $200 in gift vouchers.
