THE Nationals WA have used the Kalamunda Show to promote their first state council to be held in Kalamunda where they will preselect candidates for four metropolitan seats, including Kalamunda.
For the first time in the more than 100-year history of The Nationals WA, the party had a presence at last weekend’s Kalamunda Show as they look toward contesting metropolitan seats at the 2025 State election.
Leader Shane Love attended the two-day event, including the official opening, and praised the Kalamunda community for a wonderful event.
“It was great to see the community come together, and I commend the Kalamunda & Districts Agricultural Society for organising a fantastic event for families to enjoy,” he said.
“As The Nationals WA seek to contest seats in the metropolitan region, including Kalamunda, the show was a great forum to hear from residents about the projects and priorities they want to see from us in the future.”
Kalamunda resident and Nationals WA member Lisa Logan said the event was part of a momentous push by the Nationals into the Perth Hills and metropolitan area.
“This weekend the Nationals WA state council will be held in Kalamunda for the very first time and will preselect candidates for four metropolitan seats, includeing Bateman, Darling Range, Kalamunda and South Perth,’’ Ms Logan said.
“And next week, we will hold the first ever meeting of the Perth Hills branch of the Nationals WA, further establishing our presence in the area.’’
