EAST Metropolitan Regional Council (EMRC) has appointed Matthew MacPherson as its new chief executive officer following a special Council meeting held on August 29.
The appointment comes after a rigorous recruitment process to secure a highly qualified and experienced leader for the organisation.
Mr MacPherson brings an outstanding reputation in the local government sector, having most recently served as the technical services director for the City of Nedlands.
Prior to this, he was the infrastructure management services manager at the City of Joondalup.
EMRC chairperson Filomena Piffaretti said she was confident in Mr MacPherson’s ability to lead the organisation into a new era of growth and development.
“We are thrilled to welcome Matthew to the EMRC team. His extensive experience and proven track record in local government will be invaluable as we continue to strive for excellence in service delivery and community engagement,” she said.
“Mr MacPherson’s appointment marks a significant milestone for the EMRC, and the Council looks forward to his leadership in driving key sustainability initiatives and projects that will benefit the region.”
