DIG out a red dress, red lippie and frosty green eye shadow and take part in a Wuthering Heights fundraising flash mob in Guildford being held for the third year in a row.

Wuthering Heights day is a global event where people dress up as Kate Bush on or around her July 30 birthday, replicating her choreography to the 1978 hit song.

The song is based on the 1847 novel of the same name by Emily Bronte, also born on July 30.

People are asked to bring a gold coin donation and support a marmalade, cake and sandwich stall in St Matthews’ Church hall in Stirling Square.

There will also be hand-made Kate Bush peg doll brooches for sale.

Money raised from the event will go to Lung Foundation Australia.

Vocalists Cindy Dean and Nix Delaynii will entertain Cathys by performing the hits of Kate Bush, including Running Up That Hill and Cloudbusting.

Organiser Steph Radis said last year’s event attracted about 80 Cathys of all ages.

“There are plenty of videos online posted to our Facebook page that teach the moves to the song,” she said.

“But it’s really just a bit of fun, open to all ages and levels of fitness.”

The event is held in memory of Ms Radis’ husband Chris Cocozza, who died nearly four years ago after battling lung cancer.

“Chris loved music and volunteered his time for community groups.

“I know he would love that this event is in his honour and raising money for lung cancer research.’’

The event will be held at Stirling Square in Guildford on Saturday, July 19 from 2pm.
