WET and windy football weather greeted Mundaring at Percy Cullen oval for their round 12 game against Gidgegannup, which the Roos won 14.16 (100) to 6.8 (44).

Declan Bell assumed first ruck duties for the Bulldogs against Oli Aitken.

Jarrad Young and Liam Marriott cleared the early ruck duel forward to where Fraser Clements scooped up the loose ball to kick the opening goal.

After what ended up being a see-sawing contest the Bulldogs headed into the first break holding a four-point lead.

The swirly wind didn't appear to be favouring either end, if anything it was gusting more across the ground as Mundaring chipped away toward the car park end for a return of three goals, seven behinds while Gidgegannup could only manage one behind.

Clayton Thomas combined with Braeden Hilgert, along with Dylan O'Loghlen to collect several possessions around the ruck duels and they managed to move the ball forward to where Oli Aitken was resting deep in his forward line, providing a tall marking option.

Tyler Levett has pretty much cemented his place in the backline with some strong rebound plays along with being able to contest the ruck contests down that end.

The Bulldogs backline battled hard but were overwhelmed by the number of Roos forward entries.

Dylan Cahill dropped back in support with good effect, unfortunately that took away his on-ball presence.

The Bulldogs two goals for the third quarter weren't enough as the Roos scored five of their own.

With a 39-point lead and the weather not improving it was looking like an extremely difficult challenge for Gidgegannup to overcome.

Inaccuracy kept them to five behinds for the last quarter while Mundaring managed three goals and four behinds.

Oli Aitken rounded out his solid four quarters with a third goal, helping his team to come away with a 56-point win.
