THE Mundaring Chamber of Commerce has set a new course for 2025, appointing a new committee and beginning work on a five-year strategic plan shaped by member feedback.
The chamber’s vice president Ronald Colijn, who runs Café Mojo in Mundaring, said members had completed two surveys to help guide priorities.
“We are creating a strategic five-year vision with the help of members, key stakeholders and the shire,” he said.
“We have a goal to double our membership this year, and we are already nearly there.”
Officially incorporated in 1999, the chamber provides a platform for local businesses, not-for-profits and government representatives to connect.
Mr Colijn said collaboration remained central to its growth.
“The committee consists of six enthusiastic business owners wanting to make a difference in business owners’ life,” he said.
“We facilitate Sundowners every month to highlight our small businesses, network and connect.”
He said the chamber had also revitalised its Saturday markets in Mundaring.
“Locals love our growers and their produce at the markets,” he said.
“We successfully run the Mundaring farmers’ markets every Saturday showcasing our small businesses.
“Support from the Mundaring Community Bank has buoyed the chamber, which has launched a new website and is preparing ‘some great ideas coming up soon,’” he said.
Mr Colijn encouraged residents and businesses to consider joining.
“It’s not what we can do for you, it’s what you can do for your business community,” he said.
“Become a member, it’s ridiculously cheap, but your membership gives us gravitas to represent you and your business community and fight for your causes.
“We are new, we are fresh, we are an exciting Mundaring Chamber.”
