THE Royal Australian Air Force has warned there will be periods of increased flying operations out of Bullsbrook’s Pearce RAAF Base Pearce when it hosts an extended fighter aircraft detachment from the Republic of Singapore Air Force from September 25 to October 10.
Additional to the Pilatus PC-21, and Hawk-127 Lead-in Fighter aircraft which are currently based out of Pearce, the base will host a small detachment of F-16C/D aircraft from the Republic of Singapore Air Force.
The increased operations will see an increase in noise that may impact local residents in the Bullsbrook, West Bullsbrook, Ellenbrook, Aveley, The Vines, Lancelin, Gingin, Yanchep, Busselton, Pinjarra and surrounding communities.
“Defence is open and honest about aircraft noise experienced by residents living near bases and training areas and is committed to reducing noise while balancing operational and training requirements,” a spokesperson said.
“Whilst every opportunity to reduce impacts to the local community will be taken, flying is subject to change due to variables such as air traffic control requirements, weather, and other aviation considerations.
“Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military flying.”
Information on aircraft noise and current flying activities is available at the aircraft noise webpage or by calling 1300 333 362.
