FORMER Kalamunda dentist Peter Taylor has been found guilty of indecently assaulting a former employee at his Gooseberry Hill property after a staff party and has been sentenced to 10 months jail time.

As reported in Former Kalamunda dentist facing trial, Taylor, formerly known as Peter Terzi, admitted to taking his former teenaged Kalamunda staff member home and giving her alcohol.

The court heard the teenaged victim was heavily intoxicated after attending a work event and visiting several liquor licensed venues where she had consumed alcohol and was given more alcohol back at Taylor’s residence in 2023.

Taylor then began massaging the teen and despite being told no, Taylor did not stop massaging and then indecently assaulted her.

The court had heard from the prosecution that the victim was taken home by a friend who was a witness at the Gooseberry Hill property.

Though earlier in the trial it was contested whether witnesses could see within the property from their vantage point, the court ruled that they could see inside the home and had taken photos.

Earlier in the trial Taylor said he was unable to put a date on when the windows at the Gooseberry Hill property had been changed, but it was put to prosecution that the windows may have already been frosted at the time when witnesses claimed they saw what happened.

The court ruled that Taylor had rearranged the living room and frosted the window after the fact to cover up the evidence.

The friends who had come to collect the victim on the night of the offence tried to blackmail Taylor, asking him to pay $20,000 but this was refused.

Taylor was also previously the first ever suspended practitioner named by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) in a public warning,

As reported in AHPRA calls for residents’ accounts on former Kalamunda dentist the medical watchdog called on residents treated by Taylor since February 26 to speak up.

Dr. Terzi’s dental registration was initially suspended by AHPRA on March 8, 2024.

Shortly afterward, Terzi Dental advertised a position for a dental associate to start immediately, noting the opportunity to “pick up a full book of patients while the dentist recovers from a hand injury,” as reported in Registration suspended for Kalamunda dentist.

A few weeks after his dental registration was suspended, Dr. Terzi also had his nursing registration suspended by AHPRA, according to Nursing rego suspended for Kalamunda dentist
