THE Bilgoman Aquatic Centre is set to reopen to the public from 7am on Saturday, November 2 following a series of significant upgrades which commenced in April 2024.
Prior to opening to the public, the facility will host school swim programs from Monday, October 21.
The staged reopening ensures that the centre can still support the Department of Education’s Term 4 swimming lessons as the project nears completion, with the newly refurbished universal access toilets and essential amenities finalised.
Completion of the remaining upgrades include refurbishments to the centre’s administration areas, first aid room, entry area, kiosk and storerooms to make the facility ready for public access.
Shire of Mundaring chief executive officer Jason Whiteaker said the project is expected to be completed by October 30, allowing the centre to be fully operational starting Saturday, November 2.
“We appreciate the community’s patience as we complete these essential upgrades and look forward to welcoming everyone back for an improved aquatic experience,” he said.
