CAN you spare a few hours to help rehabilitate the Woodbridge bushlands?

If so the Friends of Woodbridge Bushlands (FOWB) would love to hear from you.

FOWB are calling for volunteers to assist at the Devon Street reserve and on the Woodbridge green to help with planting and back filling, placing covers on the plants, weeding and mulching.

“Depending upon volunteer numbers, ‘people power’ on the day will determine which site, so we need people to confirm their availability and if they have a preferred site,” FOWB facilitator and founding member Lynn Deering said.

“If volunteers are available on alternate days or times and especially during the week we welcome enquiries.

“It is a great way to meet the locals without being too committed and to make a difference to our neighbourhood. Work does not go ahead if raining.”

The proposed dates for volunteer callout are Devon Street reserve: Sunday, July 26 from 2.30 to 4.30pm, and Woodbridge Meadows: Sunday, July 26 to Saturday, August 1 from 1.30 to 3.30pm and Sunday, August 2 from 1.30 to 3.30pm.

Volunteers are encouraged to wear suitable protective clothing, shoes and gloves and to bring a shovel and small bucket.

Interested people should register via email at lynndeering@jobtactics.com or they can text or phone 0417 188 626 stating preferred site, day and time.
