A GROUP of CWAs including Midland CWA are going to be at the Guildford Stirling markets on Sunday, September 15 from 9am to 2pm.

The other branches are Gidgegannup, Caversham, Kalamunda, Victoria Park and Thornlie.

Country Women’s Association state office representatives will also be in attendance.

Midland CWA secretary-treasurer Maureen Barker said the association worked for the community with most of the money they raised going back to the community.

Earlier this year Cathy Gay representing the CWA Midland branch presented the Midland Scouts group with a cheque of $1000 to help them attend the Australian Jamboree in January next year in Queensland.

They also support the WA Cancer Foundation by providing prosthesis and turbans.

They also make blankets and fiddle rugs for aged care residents.

The Country Women’s Association of Western Australia was formed in 1924 with the opening of its first branch in Nungarin, WA.

The women’s organisation, works to improve the welfare and wellbeing of people everywhere, especially in country and regional areas.

CWA of WA encompasses the entire state, with branches throughout Western Australia, both in metropolitan and rural areas.

CWA is for country and city women of all ages, creeds, abilities and interests and provides friendship, fun, support, community service, welfare in times of need, educational opportunities and personal development.
