NOW in its tenth year Glen Forrest’s much-loved community music festival, Day In The Forrest will take place on Saturday, December 6 from 1pm to 10pm at Morgan John Morgan Park (Train Park), Glen Forrest.
What began as a small idea to bring neighbours together around local music has grown into a cornerstone of the Perth Hills cultural calendar, drawing hundreds each year to Morgan John Morgan Park.
Run entirely by volunteers, the festival captures the creativity and generosity of the community, and each year, the stage lights up with original Western Australian music, giving emerging and established artists alike a chance to share their craft.
From indie folk and roots to rock and blues, the program reflects the diverse sounds that thrive here in the hills.
But Day In The Forrest is more a music lovers’ festival than a mere music festival. It’s about connection as much as performance - families spreading picnic blankets under the trees, children dancing before the stage, and friends catching up over local food and good tunes.
The festival is free, family-friendly and inclusive, guided by one simple rule: only good vibes.
Over the past decade, Day In The Forrest has become a model for grass-roots arts events — supporting local musicians, training young stage crews, and creating a safe, welcoming space where all ages can celebrate live music together.
This milestone reflects the dedication of the committee and volunteers who put in countless hours behind the scenes, and the loyal sponsors, community groups and festival-goers who return year after year.
This year promises to be the biggest yet, with a showcase of crowd favourites, food and market stalls, and the same sense of connection that has defined the past nine festivals.
Day In The Forrest 2025 takes place on Saturday, December 6 from 1pm to 10pm, at Morgan John Morgan Park (Train Park), Glen Forrest.
