MIDLAND detectives have charged a 38-year-old man with several offences in relation to an incident that occurred in Midland on Thursday, March 13.
About 5.25pm, police received multiple calls regarding a white Toyota Camry sedan being driven on the wrong side of Guildford Road in Guildford.
Several resources were diverted to the area, and a short time later, about 5.30pm, police received a report of a serious assault outside of a residence on Ferguson Street in Midland involving the driver of the white Toyota Camry.
Upon police arrival, officers located a 67-year-old man (the victim) with lacerations to his arm, and it will be alleged the accused was armed with a knife.
Police arrested the 38-year-old man at the scene, during which time it will be alleged he spat at an attending officer.
The victim was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The 38-year-old Beechboro man was charged with one count each of dangerous driving, with intent to do grievous bodily harm, do grievous bodily harm to another and assault public officer.
The victim and the accused in this matter are known to each other.
He appeared in the Midland Magistrates Court on Friday, March 14 where bail was refused.
He was remanded in custody to re-appear in Midland Magistrates Court on Friday, May 9.
