FORRESTFIELD officers from the major crash investigation section have charged a 26-year-old Middle Swan man following a fatal crash that occurred in Forrestfield on Wednesday, June 25.
About 10.10pm, a white Nissan Navara utility collided with a blue Ford Falcon station wagon at the intersection of Hale Road and Tonkin Highway, Forrestfield.
It will be alleged prior to the crash, the Nissan Navara utility failed to stop for police.
The 26-year-old male driver of the Nissan Navara was injured in the crash and was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital.
A man in the Ford Falcon received critical injuries and died at the scene.
A female passenger was also injured and taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital.
The 26-year-old man of Middle Swan has been charged with manslaughter, reckless driving to escape pursuit by police, dangerous driving causing bodily harm in circumstances of aggravation and no authority to drive.
The man has been refused bail and appeared before the Midland Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 26 where he was remanded in custody.
The matter is next listed in the Armadale Magistrates Court on July 24 for legal advice.

OFFICERS from the major crash investigation section are seeking public assistance for information relating to a fatal crash that occurred in Chittering on Saturday, June 21.
About 11.10am, three vehicles – a prime mover truck towing one trailer, a tow truck and a white Nissan Pulsar sedan – were involved in a collision on Great Northern Highway.
The sedan and tow truck were travelling south on Great Northern Highway when the Nissan collided with an oncoming prime mover which then struck the tow truck.
The driver of the Nissan, a 27-year-old man, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.
The 69-year-old prime mover driver and 71-year-old tow truck driver, both males, were not injured.

About 8.15am, a white Volvo truck was travelling eastbound on Great Eastern Highway when it left the carriageway, rolled and engulfed in flames.
The male driver and sole occupant of the
vehicle was declared deceased at the scene.
