Murder charges following death

DETECTIVES from Homicide Squad have charged an 18-year-old man with murder following the investigation into the death of a 33-year-old man in Midland on Thursday, July 3.

Tawhai Walker-Loughlin was remanded in custody following an appearance at Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday, July 5 and will next appear in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on July 30 for legal advice.

Homicide squad detectives are seeking the public’s assistance for information as they continue to investigate the death.

Just after 5pm on Thursday, July 3, WA Police and SJA officers were called to the corner of Great Northern Highway and Margaret Street in Midland where a man in his 30s was located with serious injuries.

The man was conveyed to hospital where he later died.

Midland fatal crash investigation

OFFICERS from the major crash investigation section are seeking the public’s assistance for information relating to a fatal crash that occurred in Mundaring last Friday, July 4.

About 6.35am, a blue Jeep Wrangler vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking on Phillips Road.

The pedestrian, a 51-year-old man, was critically injured and died at the scene.

The 44-year-old male driver of the Jeep was not injured.
