
MIDLAND detectives are appealing for public assistance as they continue to investigate a vehicle fire that occurred in Ellenbrook on Sunday, May 31.
About 9.40pm, an unknown person poured an accelerant onto a black Toyota Hilux parked on Maffina Parade and set it on fire.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel attended and extinguished the blaze.
No injuries were reported.
As inquires continue, investigators are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Maffina Parade between 9.00pm and 10.00pm and may have seen any suspicious persons, vehicles or activity to contact Crime Stoppers via www.crimestopperswa.com.au or by calling 1800 333 000. OFFICERS from the major crash investigation section are investigating a serious crash that occurred in Midland on Saturday, July 4.
About 4.40pm, an unknown male riding a bicycle on the footpath of Morrison Road and a 64-year-old female walking across Mathoura Street were involved in a collision.
The 64-year-old woman sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was conveyed by ambulance to St John of God Midland Hospital, before being transferred to Royal Perth Hospital for further medical treatment.
The unknown male stopped to render assistance before riding away prior to the arrival of emergency services.
Inquiries to locate the male are ongoing.
Major crash officers examined the scene and are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with dash-cam footage, who saw a cyclist riding on the incorrect side of Morrison Road near Mathoura Street, Midland at the time of the incident.
Officers would also like to speak to the male driver of a Landcruiser Prado that stopped at the scene and spoke to the unknown male rider shortly after the incident.
