A FAIRBRIDGE Music Festival fundraising concert will be held at the Kalamunda Arts Centre on Friday, November 17 headlined by internationally recognised bluegrass band Foghorn Stringband, with evergreen WA bluegrass act, Bluegrass Parkway as support.
Foghorn Stringband, is one of the most popular and internationally recognised bluegrass and old time string bands on the roots scene today, and while the band has been to Australia previously, this will be their first tour of WA.
The band has been described as the gold standard for real-deal hard-hitting genuine old-time American string band music, with a repertoire including bluegrass, old time, blues and Cajun influences.
They have produced eight albums, thousands of shows, and with more than 15 years of touring under their belts, the band has developed a strong following throughout the world and an entirely new generation of roots musicians following their lead.
They are set to play five concerts while in WA including a fund raiser for FolkWorld, the multi-cultural folk music body that brings us the Fairbridge Music Festival.
In addition to the Kalamunda concert, which commences at 8pm, the band will also be appearing at the Duke of George in East Fremantle on November 15.
