TICKETS are on sale for the annual Gidgestock fundraising music festival which runs from October 9 to 11.
Festival goers can enjoy a weekend of campfires, rustic camping and nights dancing under the stars.
All of the musicians donate their time as do the stage crew and a large group of volunteers who, together with the sponsors, make the event possible.
The venue too is donated by hosts Steve and Jo Mitcham who open the gates of their property for the festival weekend.
Steve and Jo’s 50-acre property in Gidgegannup has a beautiful natural amphitheatre which has been enhanced significantly over the years by their son-in-law Paul Claxton.
The Mitchams said people can wake up to the call of the kookaburras and enjoy fine fellowship and great music.
“Gidgestock continues to be a highlight of the Western Australian music festival scene,” they said.
“Come for a day or stay for the weekend and enjoy the truly unique Gidgestock experience!
“The event is family friendly with many activities over the weekend to keep the kids occupied, from bush art to cuddly animals and much more.
“Market stalls and the fabulous Kookaburra boutique for preloved clothing will also keep the adults entertained.”
Gates open at noon on Friday, October 9 with early entry options available so come early to secure a fabulous spot and enjoy the atmosphere.
There will be a variety of market stalls, food and coffee vans, however alcohol is BYO only.
Last year’s headliners included 46 Brigade, Moonlighters, Dr Soul, Coastal Drift, Brothers in Arms and Chain Reaction.
Music is from 5pm to 10pm on Friday, 9am to midnight on Saturday and from 8am on Sunday until the festival closes at 12 midday.
Festival goers are permitted to set up their camp spot up to three days early for a small fee.
All profits go to the West Gidgegannup volunteer fire services, Leukaemia Foundation, Parkerville Children and Youth Care, Shalom House and the Callum and Jake Robinson Foundation.
Major sponsors include Lightning Brick Pavers, Bendigo Bank, Cortez, BOS Civil, Zenith Music, Phoenix Motors, Bladon WA and ABM Landscaping.
