A WEEKEND of campfires, rustic camping and nights dancing under the stars is coming this October with the annual music festival Gidgestock making its return to the hills.

This year marks the festival’s 10th year of bringing live local music to Gidgegannup and raising funds to support charities as well as volunteer agencies.

All profits from the event are donated to the West Gidgegannup Volunteer Fire Services, the Leukaemia Foundation, Shalom House and the Callum and Jake Robinson Foundation.

All of the musicians donate their time, as do the stage crew and a group of volunteers who, together with the sponsors, make the event possible.

This year’s headliners include 46 Brigade, Moonlighters, Dr Soul, Coastal Drift, Brothers in Arms and Chain Reaction.

The venue too is donated by hosts Steve and Jo Mitcham who open the gates of their property for the festival weekend.

You can take your children as there are many activities during the weekend to keep them occupied, from bush art to cuddly animals and much more.

Market stalls and the Kookaburra boutique for pre-loved clothing will keep the adults entertained.

There will be a variety of food and coffee vans however alcohol is BYO only.

Gates open at 12pm on Friday, October 10, early entry options are available, so come early to secure a spot and enjoy the atmosphere.

Music on Friday, October 10, from 6pm to 10pm, on Saturday from 10am until midnight and on Sunday from 8am until the festival closes at 12pm.

Patrons are permitted to set up camp up to three days early for a small fee.
