A GREYHOUND adoption group is seeking a second venue in the Perth Hills as it looks to expand its reach and connect with more potential adopters.
Retired Four Legged Athletes Perth is currently looking for a community space, business or market where it can hold adoption days and showcase greyhounds available for rehoming.
The group posted in local community pages seeking interest from venues in the Perth Hills and surrounding areas, inviting businesses and organisations to get involved.
Organisers say adoption days allow members of the public to meet retired racing greyhounds in a relaxed setting and learn more about the process of rehoming.
Greyhounds are commonly rehomed through adoption programs after retiring from racing, with groups across Western Australia working to place dogs into suitable homes.
Advocates say the dogs are generally known for their calm nature and can adapt well to a range of living environments, including suburban households.
The organisation said its greyhounds enjoy meeting new people and benefit from regular interaction during public events.
It is now looking to establish an additional location to complement its existing activities and reach more communities, including those in the Perth Hills.
Local markets, community spaces and small businesses are among the types of venues being considered for future adoption days.
Businesses or community groups interested in hosting adoption days can contact Retired Four Legged Athletes Perth through its facebook page.
