MIDLAND’s Hour of Power is back again next week featuring leaders in property and in youth fitness and mindset training as the key speakers for the event.

ROAR Inc founder and head coach Kate Kendrick will be one of the guest speakers at the Hour of Power.

ROAR Inc is a program that helps young people develop a mindset to overcome adversity by combining physical achievement with acts of kindness, and self-reflection.

Ms Kendrick first established her Fast Fit Group Fitness in 2020 after identifying a need to support disconnected young people in the community.

With COVID affecting the mental health of young people at the time, the program was designed to help combat the mental health impacts of the pandemic.

The program has a strong focus on building social skills and fostering community values and Ms Kendrick will be sharing her journey within that space.

Johnson Property Corporation principal Corina Johnson will be speaking about her career in property working commercially and also in a mediating role helping business owners understand their rights.

“I’m born in the area and a fourth-generation resident in the Swan Valley,” Ms Johnson said.

“We’re not your standard real estate agents.

“We do standard commercial real estate but also take care of special problem solving, where we work in a different area.

“We have a very rare skillset and for small businesses with property interests, there’s a lot of valuable information to know.

“It may not impact you today but you’ll across something with property you won’t be able to address yourself and you’ll go to a lawyer and that’s one way of lighting the match.

“Lawyers do have a place, but you may not want to escalate the situation, and you may not know there are services like ours out there.

“I’m not the type to seek publicity and the only reason I’ve agreed to this talk is because it’s our local business community and that’s my heart — it’s where I come from.”

The event will be held at the Crooked Spire in Midland and will begin at 10.30am next Wednesday October 9.
