THE Imperial Homestead in York has been chosen as a finalist in two categories of the 2024 Australian Hotels Association (AHA) Hospitality Awards for Excellence.

The historic hotel is a finalist in both the Family Dining Regional and Restaurant Award Region.

This is a notable accomplishment attained in just four months under the guidance of new owner Manish Bhalla and his family and staff.

“I am thrilled in such a short time after we took over the Imperial to be a finalist in two award categories,” Manish said.

“I believe this has been made possible through the unwavering support and outstanding hospitality of our customers in York, and the many visitors that are attracted to York to enjoy the many events the town regularly holds,” he said.

“I’ve always wanted to do something special in the country after owning the Glass Junction in Adelaide Terrace in Perth’s CBD.”

This year, a remarkable 530 nominations across over 40 award categories have been submitted, showcasing the outstanding calibre of WA’s hospitality industry.

The finalists have been narrowed down to an exclusive list, representing the state’s leading hotels, bars, pubs, taverns and restaurants, along with the dedicated staff who are the backbone of their success.

The prestigious 2024 AHA & Coca-Cola Hospitality Awards for Excellence will be celebrated at the Lion Gala Ball on Monday, November 11 at Crown Perth, with more than 1000 attendees expected to honour the very best in the industry.

AHA(WA) chief executive officer Bradley Woods said the vast number of nominations highlights the growth and diversity of WA’s hospitality sector, which continues to thrive across both Perth and regional areas.

“The 2024 AHA & Coca-Cola Hospitality Awards for Excellence reflect the dedication and commitment of those who work tirelessly to deliver exceptional food, beverage, and service experiences,” Mr Woods said.

“Western Australians enjoy an unprecedented range of hospitality options, from vibrant hotel cocktail bars and country pubs to suburban taverns, neighbourhood restaurants, and innovative multi-venue outlets.

“These awards are not only about recognising venues but also about celebrating the incredible people behind them. The 2024 employee awards finalists embody the heart and soul of WA’s hospitality industry, demonstrating excellence in service and passion for their craft.”
