THE Kalamunda Arts Group is looking for new members to join in and are eager to share their knowledge and expertise with newcomers.
Members gather at the St Barnabas church hall every Wednesday from noon to 4pm to get creative together.
There is no set medium to work in at the meet ups, and artists are encouraged to bring along the tools they feel most comfortable with or are most excited to learn more about.
The group also holds art sales at St Barnabas Hall on Fridays.
New members may display their artwork in the hall and when their work sells, they keep all the profit.
Kalamunda Arts group president Norah Jackson said the exhibitions also helped drive business for the church’s op-shop by drawing interest, and profits made by the church went toward fundraising efforts.
“The amazing op-shop is well patronised and they have a terrific range of goods and many fantastic books,” she said.
“It is a credit to the community and on Fridays they have morning teas and the food is delicious.”
Mrs Jackson said it would cost $50 per term to pay for the hall and the insurance, which included 10 sessions in total.
“Come a few times to see if you like it because the first two weeks are free,” she said.
“We have all become great friends over time and it is fun to socialise.
“Think about it, get out of the house come and enjoy our company and create!”
