THE Kalamunda Men’s Shed is inviting the community to take part in its annual open day on Saturday, November 4, from 10am to 4pm.
At the cost of a gold coin upon entry, entertainment will be provided including engaging woodworking activities for kids, and there will be plenty of stalls from other community groups on the day.
Along with tours of the facility, there will be products up for sale and friendly members will be free for a chat all day.
Located at 22 Falls Road, Lesmurdie, the Kalamunda Men’s Shed opened in 2009 and has since grown to a membership base of more than 170 members, providing effective service to the community and its members.
The Kalamunda Men’s Shed aims to provide an environment where all men can be creative in productive woodwork and metal work projects.
Members interact with one another, create mateship and assist in reducing social isolation, loneliness and other issues.
The Kalamunda Men’s Shed also run a session for female associate members one afternoon each week.
At the end of June it had 29 associate members enrolled with program supported by a number of experienced regular members who assist as necessary.
Various food and beverage stalls will also be available on site.
Free parking is available in nearby streets and adjacent to the Falls Road Primary School on Burma Street.
