WESTERN Australia’s premier tarmac motorsport event, the four-day endurance Lance East Exotics Tarmac West rally held in Perth and the Perth Hills from September 17-20 is expecting its largest field of competitors in 12 years.

The stages will be held in Whiteman Park, Ellenbrook, Parkerville, Kalamunda, Toodyay, Maryville Downs, Bullsbrook, Malaga and in the heart of Perth’s CBD.

Continuing for the third successive year is an event partnership with Lance East Exotics, Perth’s premier destination for prestige, performance and collector vehicles.

“As we return as naming rights partner for a third consecutive year, Lance East Exotics is proud to continue backing Tarmac West, an event that brings together world class competition, incredible machinery and a passionate community of motorsport fans,” Lance East Exotics dealership sales manager Michael Lanzetta said.

“We look forward to welcoming thousands of fans to another unforgettable celebration of motorsport this September.”

Rally drivers will race the clock along about 215 kilometres of closed roads over four days.

Forrest Place hosts a ceremonial start and the rally actions includes spectator favourites in Ellenbrook (Thursday evening, September 17), Malaga (Sunday morning, September 20) and in the City of Perth (Sunday afternoon, September 20), as well as tight technical stages that require deft driving, and long flowing stages where drivers can really find their rhythm.

Tarmac Events WA Director Ross Tapper said there is strong support for rally competitions in Western Australia.

“Tarmac West has a long history of well-organised, safe events, which instils confidence in competitors, and we’re seeing that with increased entries,” Mr Tapper said.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Lance East Exotics, their support and those of all our sponsors are highly valued and absolutely crucial for us to be able to run events.”

There is a new category open this year, Modified Classics, for cars manufactured up to and including 1989.

Lance East Exotics Tarmac West is open to rally cars, plus there is a category for standard road cars for those who like spirited driving.

Introduced in 2024, Tarmac West’s time speed distance, or TSD, category is for standard cars with drivers and co-drivers requiring a helmet and an Australian Auto-Sport Alliance (AASA) General Speed License.

TSD competitors are required to complete each stage as close to possible to the time allowed and penalised for an early finish more so than finishing late.

Lance East Exotics Tarmac West stages will be held in Whiteman Park, Ellenbrook, Parkerville, Kalamunda, Toodyay, Maryville Downs, Bullsbrook, Malaga and in the heart of Perth’s CBD.
