MIDLAS has appointed consultants from Lester Blades to search for a new chief executive officer after the resignation of their current executive leader.

Midlas chief executive officer Gaelle Gouillou has resigned from her role in the leadership position and will be working her final day as chief executive on Friday, July 26.

Ms Gouillou said she was grateful for those she worked with and felt what they had achieved in their time working together was significant.

“I extend my gratitude to the board of directors, the executive leadership team and the staff at Midlas for their support and dedication,” she said.

“Together we have achieved significant milestones and established a solid foundation for future successes.”

Ms Gouillou said since starting with Midlas, the organisation had seen major changes and the fresh strategic direction set by their new strategic plan for 2024 to 2027 positioned the organisation for continued growth and success.

The new strategic plan outlined social justice and equity through access to rights and opportunity as their vision and driving positive social change through advocacy, education, and legal advice as the organisation’s duty.

Midlas’ strategic plan also aimed to achieve a place at the table with government to contribute to policies that impact their clients and community in the coming three years.

Ms Gouillou said she was eager to see how the organisation develops and appreciated the positive change she was able to contribute to during her tenure.

“To our stakeholders, partners and the community I’ve had the pleasure and privilege to work with, I thank you for your support, trust and belief in our vision and commitment to our purpose,” she said.

“Your invaluable contributions and shared belief in our purpose has driven positive outcomes across our work, resulting in life-changing, positive impacts for those we support.

“As Midlas embarks on its next strategic phase, I am excited about the future of Midlas and look forward to seeing its continued growth and success progressing a vision for social justice and equity with access to rights and opportunity for all.”
