ON Anzac Day, in front of more than 200 residents and dignitaries, the new WWII Mount Helena Roll of Honour was unveiled and dedicated by Mundaring RSL president Eric Smith and Shire of Mundaring President Paige McNeil.
The project was a collaborative effort between the Mount Helena Residents and Ratepayers Progress Association and Lost Mundaring and Surroundings Local History Museum.
It was made possible through a successful grant application from the Department of Veteran Affairs, highlighting the importance of honouring the memory of those who served.
“The unveiling of the WWII honour roll serves as a lasting tribute to the bravery and selflessness displayed by Mount Helena’s WWII veterans,” museum curator Owen Briffa said.
As the community gathers to pay homage to their heroes, the Roll of Honour stands as a symbol of remembrance and gratitude, ensuring that the legacy of these courageous individuals endures for generations to come.
